3 fragments of gold bar, flattened by hammering. Lengths 29, 25 and 9mm.
1 fragment of gold chopped from a thin round-sectioned bar, distorted to an 'S' shape, length 29mm.
1 very pitted and eroded gold fragment, length 15mm.
1 fragment of round-sectioned, tapering brass bar, length 30mm.
Conclusion: The gold fragments could be ancient but diagnostic features are insufficient to attribute to any chronological or cultural context. Due to the undiagnostic nature of the objects they cannot be securely dated to pre-1713 and as such fall outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996.
