Hollow gold pin head (?) now flattened and split. Covering the body of the object are small filigree circles, now missing in areas. There is a small opening where a thick wire may have been inserted to complete the pin.

Notes:

Although there are no direct parallels for this item, it has a similar design to many post-medieval silver dress pins. Examples can be found from the Isle of Wight (2013 T625; PAS ID, IOW-45CD50) and Dorset (2012 T728; PAS ID, DOR-BF1D81).

Consequently, in terms of age and as the object contains a minimum of 10% precious metal it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
