rim sherd from a Roman vessel. The sherd is a probable jar and is produced in Oxford White-ware fabric. Slightly grey appearance. The vessel appears to be sooted in places. . When complete, the neck of the vessel would have had a diameter of c. 21cm.
This fine-ware vessel is likely to have been a jar, with the rounded beaded rim suggesting a common form such as Young's (2000) W33. C. AD 50-400 (but possibly more like AD 240-400).
