A complete copper alloy possibly toy piece of post-medieval date. The object is sub-rectangular with a rounded terminal to one end and a projecting rectangular terminal to the other. The rounded end is decorated with three elongated loops while the lower portion is stepped with two parallel vertical ridges extending to three zig-zag terminals at each step. The resulting effect is that of drapery as in a hanging curtain or similar. The reverse is flat and undecorated suggesting the object was only intended to be viewed from one side.
No parallel for this object has been found and this identification remains uncertain.
The metal has a mid brownish-green patina and is slightly worn. The object is 48.5mm long, 14.4mm wide, 3.1mm thick and weighs 10.8g.
