A fragment of a Medieval cast copper alloy single loop buckle dating from AD1250 - AD1400. The buckle is oval with an integral plate. The plate is 13.53mm in length, 18.56mm in width and has a transverse break running parallel to the loop. There is a centrally located circular hole drilled into the plate along the edge of the loop. It is 3.78mm in diameter and would have housed the pin, which has now been lost. The buckle is well worn with a light green patina although some of the original surface survives on the plate. The buckle measures 31.96mm in length, 30.83mm in width, 2.62mm in thickness and weighs 4.45g.
