Two joining fragments of a Post-Medieval silver coin. This is a silver groat of Mary I dating to 1553-1554.
The fragments are very worn and damaged, and had broken along the line of a bend in the coin. The obverse has a long cross fourchée over a royal shield with a partial inscription of VERITA[S]. The obverse is heavily worn and scratched and so has no visible bust. The obverse holds the partial inscription REGI....[M]ARIA.
