A copper alloy nail cleaner of Grooved Collar Type. The nail cleaner is of sturdy construction with deeply moulded decoration. At the top is an asymmetrical arched suspension loop with a circular aperture. The loop is decorated with short incised diagonal notches which extend over the sides and top. The form and decoration of the loop may be zoomorphic in style. The head of the nail cleaner is an oval stepped knop. The wider, upper ridge of the knop is decorated with incised cross hatched lines. The lower, narrower ridge has incised girth lines. It constricts into an oval sectioned shaft. There is an incised girth line at the top of the shaft. The lower part of the shaft is decorated with a series of transverse ridges and grooves creating a "baluster" appearance. Below this extends the short blade which has an elliptical cross section and a bifid terminal. The bifid terminal is formed by a deep V-shaped and V-profile longitudinal groove.
