Plain lead spindle whorl, Roman or Medieval, discoid and plano-convex, one face being rounded the other flat (slightly concave). Through the disc is 8.9mm diameter hole, which, on the flat face is surrounded by a slight rim. Diameter 28.2mm, Thickness 8,8mm, Mass 43.48g. Whorls of this simple form are difficult to date and this find could be Roman to Medieval in date.
