A copper-alloy uniface con weight of Medieval date. It is circular in form, oval sectioned and with small circular indentations at the centre of both faces. The front face carries a mark of value comprising a stamped (incuse) crown above a stamped (incuse) rose, all within a grooved circular border. It has a dark green patina and measures 17.98mm in diameter, 4.04mm in thickness and 7.11g (109.6 grains) in weight.
This is a British coin weight for a ryal (rose noble), falling slightly below the standard 120 grains for this coin type. It finds close parallels in examples published by Withers and Withers (1995: p. 36) and is of later Medieval date, c.1464-1471 AD (Withers and Withers, 1995: pp. 36, 68).
