A copper alloy adze dating from the Roman period to the post medieval period.
The object is sub-rectangular in plan with a square perforation. The object tapers to a point after the perforation. The object is thickest around the hole taper to a blade at the wider end. There is a slight bulge in plan around the hole.
Part of a similar object has been recorded on the PAS database, KENT-32EBB3.
Notes:
The finder has used boot polish on the surface of the object but says that it had a green patina.
