Cast copper alloy strap fitting/distributor, late medieval to post medieval in date (c AD1300-1600). The strap fitting/chatelaine consists of a small oval plate narrowing to a neck which bends in on itself to form a long sub-oval panel for fitting to a belt/strap. From the small oval plate, four loop holes drop down containing linked chains of sub-oval copper chains, some of which are incomplete. The oval panel is decorated with an incised geometric circular/floral pattern. The object is in good condition with a mid green patina.
