Copper alloy probable horse harness pendant, flat-sectioned sub-triangular openwork plate, trapezoidal loop in same plane at apex with circular lobe on both upper angles at ends of narrowed bar, triangular projections flank junction with plate which is pierced by six large perforations (reading down: 1, 2, 3), animal-head profiles on angles flank projecting pointed lobe at base. The face is decorated with lines of stamped annulets around perforations and outer edge. 45 x 58mm. 3mm thick.
This piece can also be found illustrated in Rogerson and Ashley (2010, 129; fig. 7.49), and compared with HESH-1FD107 on this database.
