Medieval copper alloy harness mount, an elaborate quatrefoil with enamel inlaid front face and a round-sectioned attachment shank on the reverse. The device comprises the attributed arms of Edward the Confessor: Azure a cross patonce between five martlets to sinister [Or]. The martlets should be to dexter. The same error can be seen on a harness pendant from Little Barningham (HER 31861, Ashley 2002, 44, fig. 22 no. 217). Dimensions of 31mm x 28mm. Thickness 4mm. Length of shank 8.5mm. Dates to the 13th - 14th century.
