Roman copper alloy, probably military, harness fitting: a domed, hollow-backed rectangular or lozengiform strap slide with incomplete rectangular loop on the reverse. In the centre between four quarter-circular apertures there is a separate convex-headed rivet. At two opposing corners there a slight lobes, at one other a larger lobe and at the fourth an incomplete and even larger, pierced and probably circular projection. Length 26mm, width 23mm. Loop on reverse has dimensions of 15mm x 9mm. No close parallel noted. Dates to the 2nd - 3rd century.
