A complete copper-alloy medieval strap end. The strap end is broadly rectangular in plan, rectangular in cross section and consists of three copper-alloy sheets riveted together. The top of the strap end is abraded. A further cut sheet is attached to the rivet located just below the top of the strap end. The sheet is decorated with a depiction of a king, the crown, face and upper torso. To the left of the rivet is a perforation on the decorated sheet which is not visible in the three layered strap end. Towards the tip of the strap end is a further seperate decorated sheet attached to the lower rivet. The sheet has been cut into a intricate cross which has been decorated with raised pellets. Above and below the rivet are perforations visible on the decorated sheet which is not visible on the strop end itself. Running parallel along the length of the strap end are two vertical incisions which were decorated after two lines of rocker arm decoration. The tip of the strap end tapers to a central projection. In cross section the strap end has been bent.
The strap end is 54.55mm in length, 17.25mm wide, 3.25mm thick and weighs 9.54 grams.
