A fragment of a wheel thrown a ceramic vessel of Medieval date (AD 1200-1450). The sherd is of a steeply curved handle or lug (possibly from an urn) and is a sandy ware from a Brandsby ware type vessel. The fabric is a mid buff colour with a fine grey cross section. The sherd retains a minor amount of olive coloured glaze on both surfaces with no clear indication of decorative pattern.
