Obverse description: A crowned bust facing left with II behind the bust, with a border of beading and then an inscription
Obverse inscription: CAROLUS DG M B F ET H REX
Reverse description: A worn shield surrounded by garniture and quartered with the arms of England in quarters 1 & 4, the harp of Ireland in quarter 3. Presumably the lion of Scotland in quarter 2 but now illegible. Around this a border of beading and the inscription.
