A lead-alloy steelyard weight with iron suspension loop, probably dating from the Roman period.
The lower portion of the solid-cast body is of circular section, the straight sides extending upwards from a flat base. Just above halfway up, the surfaces of the weight angle inwards, towards a central point. The apex loop, made of iron wire, has been pushed into the surface of the lead alloy and is broken at one point.
