A Post-Medieval quarter thistle-merk of James VI of Scotland (I of England), eighth coinage, minted at Edinburgh 1602. The coin has a die axis of 6 and is very worn with two holes drilled from the reverse, centrally placed on the diagonal, 11mm apart. Slight burring remains on obverse.
