A clipped silver coin of Elizabeth I, possibly a threefarthings dating to the period AD 1561 to 1582.
The obverse depicts a crowned bust right and is surrounded by the legend although this is now illegible. The reverse depicts a square shield over a long cross fourchée. The legend is again illegible. Hammered threefarthings were only produced during the second coinage of Elizabeth I which dates between 1561 and 1582.
