Incomplete Roman copper alloy equal-ended plate brooch, the hinged pin and the end with the catchplate missing. The pin was secured in a double lug by an iron spindle. The cross-bar consists of three knurled ribs and two grooves, and the centre comprises a square cell now empty of enamel. Extant length 17.5mm. Estimated length 27mm. Width 13.8mm. Mackreth 2011, 170, Continental type 2.e1, quite similar to Mackreth 211, pl. 113, no. 8264. Late 1st - 2nd century.
