Cooper alloy terminal in the form of a rams head and neck. One end is the ram’s muzzle, and the object then expands to form the head and neck of the animal. The piece is heavily abraded so that much of the detail which may once have been evident is now lost. However, the general shape of the animal’s head and neck can be discerned. There is also a large curving horn on either side of the object beginning at the back of the animal’s head, curving back so that the back of the horn reaches to the other end of the object, before continuing to curve round. At the other end there is a large sub-circular recess which tapers to a rounded end (Diameter c.18mm. Depth c.15mm). There are traces of white-grey alloy just inside the recess, most likely the remains of solder probably used to attach the object to the end of another object, perhaps to a handle, forming a terminal. Patchy, dull mid-green and reddish-brown patina, with the reddish-brown patina dominating the upper surface of the object, probably iron corrosion.
