Lead unidentified object. A cast rhomboid plate of thickness c.7mm with indented sides and a flat base, the latter face probably uppermost in an open mould. A spur or lug at each point or angle of the plate bears a projecting feature; where most clearly visible this appears to preserve the form of a curled rod passing through an aperture. The object might be the detached base of a figurine, with two of the lugs marking the position of feet, though this would leave the others unexplained. The object is, however, too massy to be part of a toy figure. There is scant patination of the surface, suggesting a relatively recent date. Suggested date: Post-Medieval to Modern, 1700-1900.
