A complete silver sixpence of Elizabeth I (AD 1559 to 1603) dating to AD 1561. North Number 1997.
The obverse is very worn but depicts a left facing crowned bust which is no longer visible, and a rose behind the head which is still visible. Much of the legend has been worn away however the letters visible are ELIZABET.....REGINA. The reverse depicts a shield divided by a cross fourchée which also divides the legend. The legend reads POSVI/DEV.AD/IVTIORE/M MEV.
