Oval shaped Roman plate brooch. In the centre of the brooch is a recessed central oval that would have contained enamel, glass or a stone which is now missing. This is surrounded by a recessed cell that is flanked by two thick raised bands. The recessed cell would have contained enamel, but only a small trace of green enamel now remains. There catch plate and pin mount on the reverse are truncated.
