A cast copper alloy coin weight. The weight is circular in plan and rectangular in section with rounded corners. The weight is uniface, decorated with a heavily abraded ship, any other detail is unclear. The weight has patches of a matte mid green patina. It measures 17.31mm diameter, 3.86mm thick and weighs 5.4g.
The use of round weights with representations of a ship were used in the 15th century and 16th centuries (Withers P. & B.R. Lions, Ships and Angels Galata Print. Powys p. 18). This weight is possibly for a ryal.
