The end cap from a medieval knife handle, manufactured from folded copper alloy sheet with a seperately cut end piece soldered on, and the remains of a wooden knife handle within. The object is rectangular in cross section and has incised decoration on all faces. One one of the two larger faces, St. David is depicted playing a harp, though on the opposite face the figure is too worn to identify. The two smaller faces are decorated with patterns of incised lines, while the top most surface depicts a male bust, facing left. A similar object, SF6653, is recorded on this database as dating from the 15th century.
