A complete cast copper alloy annular brooch dating to the Medieval period, circa AD 1200-1500. The brooch is circular in plan. The brooch frame is flat on both sides creating a sub rectangular section. The brooch frame has a recessed area accommodating one end of the pin which is wrapped around the frame. The pin, which is complete, has a circular section and tapers to a blunt point. The length of the pin is 18.04mm. A disc-shaped collar lies flush with interior edge of the brooch frame at the hinge end of the pin. The diameter of the collar is 4.69mm. The brooch has a light green even patina. The surface of the brooch is abraded on the reverse. Soil still adheres to the brooch. The brooch is a find of note due to being complete. Diameter: 18.36mm. Width: 4.22mm. Thickness: 1.89mm. Weight: 2.6g.
