An incomplete post-Medieval cast copper-alloy and ?glass 'fob' seal matrix (c. 1700-c. 1800). Part of the handle is missing. The hollow body is domed and in plan, is square with rounded corners. The body has been machine pressed and the outer face has decorative spiralling grooves and a plain rim. It has a looped handle, part of which is missing. The intaglio, bevelled around the edges, is pinkish red and probably made of glass. An impression of the intaglio depicts a bare-headed human male bust facing left. The body and handle are drab matt brown with green copper-alloy corrosion products. There is no indication of any surface treatment. Height: 12.46mm; width: 17.89mm; thickness: 15.42mm. Weight: 4.36g.
