Medieval silver brooch with annular frame and D-sectioned pin set within a constriction. One half of the hoop is plain and of rectangular cross-section. The other half is twisted cable fashion and all four faces are decorated with a line of closely spaced pellets. On the pin there is a transverse rib or grip near the loop.
This is a rather common form of medieval brooch, e.g. a copper alloy example from London (Egan and Pritchard 1991, no. 1310) and silver brooches from Staffordshire (WMID-46E157), Langley with Hardley, Norfolk (NMS-49D2C5, HER 45418) and Stanfield, Norfolk (HER 7241, Treasure Annual Report 2002, 80, no.76).
