A lead alloy weight. The weight is D-shaped in horizontal profile; one of the sides is flat and the other curves in an arc. The weight tapers vertically to an apex. There is an integral circular hole towards the top of the weight for attachment. As weights such as this one have been in common use since the Roman period, they can be difficult to date if not found within an archaeological context.
