Less than half of a medieval to post-medieval copper alloy purse bar, one arm only, the central boss and loop missing. Unusually the surfaces are partly covered with black lacquer. The round-sectioned arm ends in a globular terminal which is decorated with one transverse groove and a pair of encircling grooves, cf. Margeson 1993, fig. 24 no. 291. London Museum Medieval Catalogue Type B. Arm diameter 4mm. Terminal diameter 12.5mm. Extant length 41mm. First half 16th century.
