Proximal end of a medieval or post-medieval scale tang of an iron knife with the verdigris stains of two copper alloy scales that were attached by two iron rivets. The straight distal ends of the stains seem to indicate the full length of the scales (29 and 30mm), the full length of the rang being much longer than the 34m that remains. Width 15mm at the end and 13mm at the break. Late 14th - 17th century
