Lower part of a medieval to post-medieval copper alloy candlestick, hollow but partly filled with dark reduced fired clay (remnant from the casting process). Below the break there is an encircling rounded rib. At the lower end below a slight flare there is an expanding square projection to which the base would have been attached. Extant length 67.5mm. Diameter 13.5mm (at lower end 17mm). Weight 59g. 15th - mid 16th century
