Incomplete medieval copper alloy book clasp, with a missing folded sheet plate. A transverse terminal loop is non-zoomorphic and the central part through which a hole passes is flat rather than convex. A simple version of Egan 1998 nos. 919-24. 18 x 11.2mm. Central hole diameter 3mm, terminal loop diameter 1.5mm. Late 14th - 15th century.
