A Post Medieval or early Modern cast copper-alloy mount, probably dating to between c. 18th-19th centuries AD. In plan the mount has an octofoil shape with a central square hole for a separately cast square rivet, now missing. The front face is convex with beveling on the edges of the square hole, at which point there are signs of rotational wear. There is a circular groove directly inside of the octofoil decoration. The reverse of the mount is concave. The square hole, flat back and indications of rotational wear suggest that it is probably a back mount for a furniture handle and originally attached to a drawer, cupboard or similar object. The mount has an even light green patina. The mount measures 20.8mm diameter, 1.5mm thick and it weighs 3.21 grams.
