A copper-alloy probable ring of uncertain, possible Iron Age to medieval date. The ring is oval in plan (83.35mm in lenth, 74.6mm wide) and circular (c. 6.65mm wide) in cross section. Wear is visible internally (minimum 4.2mm wide). The smooth mid grey patina has been removed in places revealing the light green metal underneath. The ring is 53.94 grams.
The artefact has been suggested as a section of harness fitting, a ring and a bracelet. The internal wear suggests that it is unlikely that the artefact functioned as a bracelet. No diagnostic features are visible on the ring, consequently a broad Iron Age to medieval date is suggested.
