A fragment of an early medieval Carolingian copper alloy gilded mount of composite construction and of uncertain original extent. The main fragment has no certain original edges; at its centre is a lozenge shape with incurving sides and at the centre of this is a large domed rivet. Within the lozenge shape is a saltire of strip form each arm of which is decorated with a single line of round pits. Within each angle of the saltire is a petal-like form with a void dividing each petal lengthwise. Beyond the incurving sides of the lozenge is a surviving pair of expanded rounded triangular forms containing pairs of leaves and a central bud. A separate rounded three-sided plate is attached to one corner of the central lozenge by a single rivet; this also contains flower forms.
