Copper alloy trade weight dating to the Post Medieval period. The weight is a circular in plan, copper alloy disc. One face of the disc has stamped decoration; a crowned C at 12 o'clock and a coffee ewer or pot at 6 o'clock. The centre of the disc has a small circular punch that does not extend to the other side. The reverse is plain except for file marks. It has a dark green patination with a pale green patina in the file marks and pits.

The coffee ewer is a symbol of the Worshipful Company of Founders and the crowned C dates the weight to the reign of Charles I (1625-1649) or Charles II (1660-1685).

It measures 14.35mm in diameter, 2.9mm in thickness and weighs 3.27g (0.115 oz). This was probably a weight for 1/8 of an ounce. Similar examples have been recorded on this database; e.g SWYOR-2D5E51 and WMID-DEA514.
