A complete cast copper alloy key of Medieval date, circa AD1100-1500. The bow is lozenge-shaped with circular knop at the top and bottom. The end of the bow has the remains of a tubular suspension loop. The stem is hollow. The bit is sub rectangular. perhaps incomplete, with a rectangular and a circular hole, as well as two further rectangular clefts. The key is mid green with an even patina. The surface is slightly abraded. Length: 89.23mm. Width: 26.80mm. Thickness: 8.91mm. Weight: 38.7g.
