An incomplete Late Iron Age/ early Roman (AD 20-80) copper- alloy Colchester one-piece brooch missing the majority of the catchplate, the spring and pin.
The wings are flat and rectangular, one wing in incomplete. No decoration is visible on the bow which tapers towards the tip. Behind the wings is a fragment of the coil of the spring and a forward facing hook.
The majority of the catchplate is missing, a fragment survives.
The brooch is 45.8mm in length, 9.1mm wide, 13.55mm thick and weighs 4.48 grams.
