A cast copper-alloy handle from a chafing dish of late Medieval to early Post-Medieval date. The handle is flat, rectangular in section and heart-shaped in form. It has faceted edges and extensive tool marks on all surfaces. At the attachment end is a separated cast copper-alloy attachment loop that is rectangular in section, oval shaped in plan with a central circular perforation and a small cylindrical stud that enabled attachment to the vessel.
