Two post-medieval copper alloy shoe buckles, c.1660 - c.1720:
- oval undecorated frame, iron spindle, copper alloy pin and stud chape. The latter is broken across the hole for the missing stud. Frame 18.5 x 14.5mm.
- sub-rectangular with convex edges and a pair of transverse grooves over the spindle housings, copper alloy pin and stud chape (stud missing). The iron spindle is missing and has been replaced with a copper alloy pin, its point bent over to hold it in place. As a result of this substitution the whole object still articulates freely. Frame 22.5 x 16.5mm. Chape 18 x 10mm.
