A near complete cast copper-alloy spur of Post-Medieval date. It is missing the rowel due to old breaks but is otherwise complete, although slightly bent due to post-depositional damage. The spur has oval sectioned sides that expand vertically towards the rowel box. At each end the sides have a diagonal groove from which they turn downwards at an angle of 45 degrees to a short arm with integral terminal. The terminals are sub-triangular in form, D-shaped in section with three evenly paced circular apertures. The apertures are separated by diagonal grooves, with triangular projection at the outer of the three apertures. At the centre of the sides/arms is an integrally cast rowel box that is oval sectioned with a transverse collar separated by deep grooves that has multiple diagonal grooves producing a corded or twisted appearance. From a second, undecorated collar with circumferential groove extend two curving D-sectioned arms that have dome-shaped terminals with central aperture and concave back faces. The entire object has a green patina and measures 130.10mm in length (slightly bent), 43.97mm in surviving width, 17.87mm in height at rowel end, 11.91mm in diameter at rowel box, 26.24mm in height at terminals, 4.24mm in thickness at sides, and 80.90g in weight.

This is a spur of Post-Medieval date. It finds parallels in a number of similar examples recorded through the PAS database (e.g. SWYOR-A2ED76, BERK-F47B46, SOM-9E74B0, SF-912641, HAMP-536C17, SF-1ACCB3 or SF-EF1AB3). These indicate a Post-Medieval date for the current example, probably in the 17th century AD if not slightly earlier or later.
