A copper alloy Roman headstud brooch dating from AD 75 - 200. The brooch wings are small and rectangular. They hide a tubular housing for the axis bar and the remains of a copper alloy pin, most of which is missing. The brooch is very worn but the stubs of a missing integral headloop are just discernible. The headstud is now nothing more than a worn integral oval lump. The bow tapers to the discoidal foot. The catchplate is missing. The brooch has a grey brown patina.
