A rim sherd from a Roman colour-coated jar, possibly of Hadham ware, dating from the 3rd or 4th century AD.
The everted rim rolls outwards from the wall of the vessel, with a slight groove at the point of the transition. The fabic has a dark grey core, orange surface and has been slipped in a patchy orange and brown, with an overlying wavy line of white slip on the inner surface of the rim.
