A cast copper-alloy thimble of probable late Medieval to Post-Medieval date. It has straight sides with a rounded/pointed top and a slightly thickened rim with single circumferential groove. On the underside of the rim there are two triangular notches resultant from manufacture. The straight sides are covered with unevenly arranged circular pits that spiral from the base to the shoulder of the thimble and finally to the top. The thimble measures 21.34mm in height, 20.40mm in diameter, and weighs 9.16g. It probably dates to the 15th or 16th centuries AD (see Holmes, 1991: p. 1, fig. 2b).
