Cast copper alloy spur rowel with five points, arranged in a star shape, in plan, around a central circular hole, which is 5 mm in diameter. Two of the points are missing their tips and the other three are larger, in length (13 mm) and width (10 mm), than the two broken points (11 x 8 mm). The points are almost flat with a slight lozenge-shaped in section and there does not appear to be any decoration or gilding, though the original surface is pitted and missing.
Read (2001) illustrates a similar example with five points on page 66, Fig.42, No.509, which is dated from the 14th to the 17th century.
Bailey (2002) illustrates a similar example with five points on page 36, Fig.18, which is dated from the 17th century.
