A Medieval copper alloy harness hook. The body of the hook is sub- triangular or shield shaped. The hook issues from under a collar at the pointed end . On both sides of the body, and facing in the same direction - facing left - is a rabbit or hare sitting on a crescent moon. The animal has traces of white enamel, the moon (possibly) green enamel The animal is placed so that its head lies at the top of and in the broadest part of the triangle. The ends of the crescent moon also point upwards away from the collar and hook. The hook curves outwards along its length then curves upwards to form the hook.
