An incomplete Medieval silver-gilt finger-ring (1200-1400). Treasure case no. 2013 T147.
The bezel is square in plan and the underside is flat with bevelled edges. The central square cell measures 8.40mm x 8.40mm and is 5.25mm in height. It contains a flat clear 'glass' setting, now broken. Earth behind the glass gives it a greyish muddy appearance. A narrow ledge around the base of the cell has been stamped with small evenly spaced linear grooves. The hoop is largely missing and only the stubs survive. These are integral with the bezel, rather than being soldered.
8.15mm; (height); 12.33mm (length); 11.84mm (width). Weight: 1.45g.
